Aythos supports Himalayan communities with programs that foster health and sustainable livelihoods. Aythos has been operating in Nepal since 2009 and Aythos Nepal is a NGO registered with Nepal's Social Welfare Council, operating in partnership with Aythos, Inc., a U.S. based INGO.
The field manager reports to the Aythos Nepal country director, and is a full-time salaried position. As a field manager, you will need to visit and assess community needs to plan and develop livelihood projects, execute, and then evaluate project effectiveness. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Attaining input from community partners to propose and lead new projects.
Develop projects, including a well-written project plan, budget and log frame for each projects proposal.
In coordination with Country Director and Program Specialist, designs budgets and activities for the field projects.
Implement the approved projects successfully based on approved project plans.
Evaluates the project effectiveness by determining how our projects have increased knowledge, capabilities and/or income changes of our beneficiaries. Plans “next steps” based on evaluation results.
Develops relationships with new or existing vendors to support sales of beneficiary goods in Kathmandu markets.
Compiles data and information to produce high quality project and field reports for every field visit, including photos, videos and results and evaluative material.
Responds to special requests for social media, video, interviews, and project information as needed.
Arranges, hires transportation, temporary staff and contractors for fieldwork including but not limited to training, media production and other field-related activities.
Assists in researching opportunities for funding and partnerships. Provides data from the field to supplement the grant writing process.
Ensures project materials are procured with a balance of fiscal responsibility, quality, and effectiveness at the core of purchasing decisions.
Conducts weekly telephone check-ins with community partners to understand issues related to project sites and beneficiaries.
Attends weekly and special meetings program responsibilities with stakeholders.
Decuments and creates reports of weekly call summaries.
Fluent written and spoken English
Developing well-written, professional project proposals and budgets.
Knowledge of logical framework models and M&E (monitoring and evaluation)
Confident in documenting project activities through photos and video
Comfortable communicating in writing and speaking to Western staff and volunteers
Respectfully interact with and treat all parties with respect and dignity.
Strong knowledge of Gmail, Google Drive (Docs, Spreadsheets, Calendar), MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
